Location: Eugene, OR
Challenge:
This homeowner in the south hills of Eugene found us on Yelp and called in to inquire about what could be causing her floors to be so cold. Our consultant went out to look and discovered that not only was the crawl space preventing her floors from being comfortable, but it was also incredibly unhealthy to breath all the dust and rodent matter that had been seeping up into her home. Solution:
To make her home more comfortable and healthier, the owner chose crawl space encapsulation. Our crew removed the loose fiberglass, organic materials, and the ground cover.
The crew then laid down drainage matting, Terrablock, and a 20-mil thick cover to create a barrier between the ground and the crawl space. (photo 2) The foundation walls were sprayed with 2 inches of closed-cell spray foam. The crew installed the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to help keep moisture levels below where mold likes to grow.
When we checked in three weeks later, she was very happy with her newly encapsulated crawl space, warmer floors, and healthier breathable air.
