The homeowner was unaware of the mice living in her attic. With the bath fan venting straight in to the attic, and heat seeping in through all the leaks (especially around the light fixtures), the mice were happy and comfortable up there. Our Energy Consultant even found their “picnic area” (see first photo of empty sunflower seeds). The animals love fiberglass and were tunneling through it (see second photo).
To solve this, all the old nasty fiberglass was removed and TruSoft™ cellulose was blown in. Since the cellulose is treated with borax, animals do not like to live in it or burrow in it.
