Challenge:
After some remodeling work, the compressor in the basement was now louder than it had been in the office areas. They found us online and called for an evaluation.
Solution:
Our Energy Consultant met with them and then investigated the space. He originally suggested closed-cell spray foam insulation to help with the sound muffling. Yet, because there would be a lot of preparation work to tape off pipes, and the fire sprinkler system would not be able to be covered, the decision was made to add R-49 fiberglass batting to the ceiling of the machine room, which is the underfloor of the office spaces.
